Made in Germany | Fleurop — a Century of Flowers

More than 25 million people worldwide enjoy the services of Fleurop every year. Back in 1908, Max Hübner, a Berlin-based florist, had the idea of sending orders for fresh flowers to other florists, instead of the flowers themselves.

The global Fleurop network now joins some 50,000 partner florists in 150 countries. The flowers are delivered fresh, and the bills subsequently processed by the two florists involved. Fleurop is now celebrating its100th anniversary, even surviving Germany’s division, although eastern-style bouquets didn’t always match western wishes. Nowadays, in a modern communications world, it’s only a matter of hours between the order and those fresh flowers, delivered to your door. A report by Holger Trzeczak.
