Flowers

I have some Rose of Sharon plants. This is their 2nd year for them. I know that they get their flowers in late summer/early fall. How old will they be when they start producing their first flowers? And also, I have some older and bigger Rose of Sharon’s too. When is a good time of year to trim them? Thanks.

mine took about 1 and a half years but my neighbors took 3 so somewhere in between there. i prune mine right at end of winter.
